Jake Slemker
Assistant Coach
Entering his second season, Dayton native and former Wright State soccer player Jake Slemker joined the Raider coaching staff as an assistant coach in March, 2010.
"We were very excited to get Jake on board with us here at WSU," said head coach Bryan Davis. "He spent two seasons at the Junior college level to which he really found a true passion for the coaching side of the game. For me it is also important that we have alumni on staff whenever possible. WSU has a great soccer tradition and Jake will be a great ambassador for our program to continue to reconnect with that tradition."
Slemker, who played for WSU from 2003 to 2007, has been an assistant coach at Scottsdale (AZ) Community College for the past two seasons. A 2003 graduate of Northmont High School, he was a four-year starter in the Raiders' backfield. Slemker also spent some time playing professionally with the Cincinnati Kings and Arizona Sahuaros.
Keenan Flynn
Goalkeepers Coach
Keenan Flynn, who completed his collegiate career last season at Marquette, joined the Raider staff as the goalkeepers coach at Wright State in May, 2011.
Flynn competed for two seasons (2009, 2010) at Marquette and also played for two seasons (2006, 2007) at St. Marys in California. His 1.10 goals against average in 2007 set a school record.
Away from the pitch, Flynn was named to the Big East All-Academic Team in 2009. He graduated with honors in earning a degree in Health Science in December, 2010.
"We have been excited to have Keenan "Keys" on board with us at Wright State," said head coach Bryan Davis. "The quality individuals that you have on your team and on staff are an extremely important part of a program and whether or not it has success. Keenan is a top quality person and has a bright future as a coach in college soccer. He adds to our program with a great background in goalkeeping expertise as he was coached collegiately by some of the best goalkeeper coaches in the nation in Cody Warren at St. Marys and Stan Anderson at Marquette. Along with that, Keenan himself was a very good goalkeeper and is able to give some key first-hand advice to our present goalkeepers."
A native of Sacramento, California, Flynn is a graduate of Christian Brothers High School, where he was a team captain as a senior and helped lead the Falcons to a conference title in 2005. Flynn also spent part of 2006 playing for a pair of amateur teams in Den Haag, Netherlands.
